LAUNCE – FROZEN SEA FISHING BAIT
Launce are an excellent natural bait for UK sea fishing, particularly for cod, bass, rays and pollack. Their long, slim shape makes them ideal for fishing whole, although larger launce can also be cut into sections or used as part of a larger cocktail bait.
Small and medium launce make a neat whole bait, while larger launce are ideal when you want to put out a substantial fish bait for bigger species.
LAUNCE & SQUID COCKTAIL
A great way to fish launce is to wrap a whole launce with a strip of squid.
The squid adds toughness to the bait and helps hold the presentation together. Bind the launce and squid firmly with bait elastic, keeping the finished bait straight and streamlined for casting.
For this presentation we recommend a Pulley Pennel Rig, particularly when targeting cod, bass and rays from the shore.

TOP TIP: Keep the launce straight, wrap the squid neatly around it and secure firmly with bait elastic. A well-bound bait will cast better and stay on the hooks longer.
